Markmaking✒

The two sessions of print I completed, our inspiration was our mark-making. For our first week, I started off using myself and created a list of personality traits I think that I fit. From this, we had to turn these into marks, keeping our keywords - colour and unity - in our minds, more so using colour later. I used various materials, finding that graphite sticks were my favourite. I enjoyed the way you can see each pencil stroke, getting darker with more pressure. We then took these into our first session of print, using the etching press.

I found quite a few of mine were very geometric, just naturally. I did try more circular and curvy ones but just didn't enjoy it as much as the others. I like the shapes the lines created as it gave me lots of ideas for my print session later on.
