Tate Modern🏛

Took a little visit to the Tate Modern in London; had such a good time. I had never been before, or many art galleries in the past, so was excited about this one.

I wandered around all the collections and just enjoyed the art; there was such a variety. The most random things, for example, a lobster phone!

And then such meaningful things, for example this below. A piece made with fire hoses which were used in a civil rights protest, in Alabama, over 50 years ago.

I found so many gorgeous artworks relating to my principles and elements - colour, shape, line, movement, contrast, unity. The list is endless. Going here has made me realise how many of these principles and elements artists use in their work on a day-to-day basis.

This visit had really opened up my eyes to the principles and elements I had been looking at. Obviously I knew what these words meant, but seeing them 3D, using my knowledge is a lot different than seeing them 2D through a computer screen on Google.

After the gallery, I wandered around London. Again, from my workshops, and the zooms, and talking to my tutors, I have much more of a vision. For example, I was walking around and my eyes kept getting drawn to structures, colour, movement, etc, in these mundane objects.

These were the pages I created in my sketchbook for my visit. Really enjoyed making them and documenting such an eye-opening trip.

Overall I think this was such a beneficial day. Had such a fun time exploring! Definitely think doing trips like this is a good thing, really gets your mind and brain thinking!
